About GRP Flat Roofing

GRP (Glass reinforced Polyester) was discovered back in the 1940's. It's high strength, corrosive proof properties and great looking appearance has seen it been used since then for a wide range of applications. It was first used in the boat building industry and gained acceptance to be an invaluable product, since then it has become the standard material for the construction of such things as small craft, building cladding panels, water tanks and other types of construction requiring high performance waterproofing.

GRP, over the last decade has seen a rapid growth in the roofing industry as more and more people realise it's benefits which outweight standard traditional flat roofing systems.

Used as a waterproofing material now for over 50 years, GRP roofing systems provide complete protection without the need for maintenance for a minimum of 20 years and often a lot longer.

A GRP roof is a single-ply GRP laminate applied in-situ over a good quality OSB3 decking board. Roofs are finished with pre-formed GRP edge trims and a coat of pre-pigmented topcoat.
